‘A QUICK SUMMARY OF MY LIFE AS AN ARTIST’

The first thing I painted when I first started painting at the age of five were ‘Flowers’. As a child I found myself naturally drawn to nature. Meanwhile I also felt deeply connected to the ‘Stars’. Staring into depths of skies and star gazing for hours became a hobby during summer break. Gradually imagination started soaring high, organic patterns around me kept inspiring. Later on the ‘Energy of Colours’ over took the whole scene.

Simultaneously an urge to know myself - not my body, not the mind but the awareness inside that is moving through flesh and bones and how it is perceiving the world outside, rose to surface.

Anyways, with almost zero guidance I started drawing what I could see and that suppressed my imagination big time! Years passed as I became technically qualified by getting a Masters degree in Art. But.. it was not serving my purpose. On and off I used to get help from my intellect to get into that expressive mode but it was so well programmed through acquired knowledge that it never let me do my very own thing.

I had to undergo a period of silence for a few years to unlearn - or pretend to unlearn what all I learnt. And then one Ordinary Day, that Expression arrived at its own in the most subtlest of ways. I saw myself painting day in and day out, sometimes loosing track of time and space. Those vivid colours from my dreams overwhelmed my canvases. My work became purely experiential, from there on my awareness found a way out.

My expression is still about the energy of colours, rhythmic flow of paints and the reverberation created through brush strokes.

I love to give my paintings a feel that they are not a lifeless two-dimensional piece of beauty to adorn any space, but a Living Breathing Soul of an Artist that is vibrating at its unique frequency!
